Movers brought it – $250 which was totally worth it as 3 burly young guys got it up the porch stairs.
The tuner came today too. Just to take a quick look, giv me an estimate and so on. Very nice since I had no idea. It is quite out of tune of course, but in very good condition considering it’s age. He’ll come back after we’re back from vacation and tune it once it’s had a chance to “settle”. Also he’ll replace the one broken ivory and has a key for the lock!
Needed dusting badly and some careful cleaning everywhere – it’s been neglected but not abused. Nothing dead inside.
I am so thrilled. The chum and I have already been playing it and the chum has had to stand on the bench to peer inside and watch the hammers strike the strings! Happy day!

Piano moving on the 30th. Yay!
Thinking I’ll try and find a tuner right away so I can get playing while the novelty is still there.

One company way undercuts everyone else – $250!
For that price I’m going to assume the piano is just fine and not make the 45 minute trip out to look at it – I mean, it’s coming from an employee of my (kind of) fil – would they lie?
Now to set a date and get it here before we go camping!

I’ve emailed it’s owner a formal request and questions about stairs.
How does one move a piano? Not in the back of the husband’s pickup – that’s certain.
Have emailed someone local who does piano moving just to see what we’re talking about.

She doesn’t have it, but she knows who does have it.
Of course now the question is whether anyone else has taken it in the past month.
Hope not.

I just need to find out where it is and get it.
Man, I’m a slacker.
