travel at least 3 times a year

I have booked Orange County, CA in May Barcelona for NYE 2010!!

I made it to Belize, Central America in December. It was an amazing experience! I testing my boundaries, went snorkeling and caving, met new people, ate fish (which I normally hate..) and reconnected with my best friend. I plan on looking into more travel in CA, possibly Panama, Honduras, and Guatemala.

Will see what I can manage next…

You just have to be realistic about costs and select the right destination that fits your budget! Don’t be a snob about the star class rating of your hotel and be willing to stay a little further away from the heart of the action to save a few bucks. And weekend trips make all the difference!

So last year I made it to San Diego, Boston in Feb, Boston in Oct, and Baltimore.

This year, I traveled to Atlanta and Augusta, GA (on business, but whatever – it’s travel!), Paris, London, and Washington D.C.

You have to keep in mind that travel is so good for the heart, head, and soul. Even though it’s probably more realistic to stay home and I don’t know, like pay off credit cards ors something… seeing the world puts things into perspective and makes you grateful for what you have. And it never hurts to just get away from your normal day-to-day life for a little while.

Next – Austin and then the Caribbean.

I love the world. I love getting excited, scared, and exposed to it. However, finances are a common excuse to keep the passport stored away and for my suitcases to get dusty. But there has to be a way to get away 3 times a year and not feel like I am ignoring other financial responsibilities. Ok, like make a cash fund solely dedicated to travel and commit to it! I always find money to go out drinking, dancing, and dinnering, why not for travel? I think I could do 1 overseas trip, a cheap PR or DR weekend, and one weekend get away. I’ve got a good job, a good head on my shoulders… this is do-able!
