that I have been in a Malaria-ridden area within the last few months and will not be able to fulfill this goal for at LEAST another 9 months, I have decided to take it off of my to-do list. This will happen, but I don’t see the point in keep it on the list when I know that it has no chance of being done in the near future. The other ones can at least be worked on. I actually can’t wait for February next year; hopefully, I’ll be cleared and my blood won’t clot in the bag!

I was all serious about this, ready to give and EVERYTHING! I went to the RedCross website to check my eligibility, and I am NOT ELIGIBLE! Why? I just came back from a malaria-infested country. I have to wait at least one year or up to THREE YEARS to donate!!! This freakin’ SUCKS!!!
Well, I guess the next best thing would be to volunteer with the Red Cross. I’ll look into that.
When I was in college, Red Cross used to come to us and draw blood. The first time I tried, my iron count was too low. The second time, my blood clotted!!! The next time they came around, I was menstruating. After that, I just stopped trying. My blood-giving karma was just not up to par. I have O- blood (the universal donor), so it would be really helpful to try and give blood. I am going to go on my own time and give blood, rather than waiting for a drive to come to me.
