The weekend

I made my goal of completely half of my to-do list…even a little better than half!! Now I just need to finish the other half this week…and then start all over this weekend…its a never ending cycle…

1 Month

I was doing so well…the first few weeks of Jan I completed my “to-do” lists every week. As of late, I have not been so productive. I’ve been using the normal excuses of “not feeling well” and that “I just need a day off” and even “its too cold to do anything”. I’m really trying hard this weekend to finish at least half of my “to-do” list…some of the things are really time consuming.

With any luck, I’ll accomplish that goal.

2 weeks in...

I’m now 2 weeks in to this goal and I’m exhausted!! In order to stop procrastinating, I schedule out my evenings…30 min. read/relax time, 1 1/2hr. work on free lance, 2 hr. dinner, then dishs and preparing for the morning (coffee and the like), then I take care of my plants and get ready for bed…the weekends are so much worse. The positive of all this is that I’m getting things done and still have time to myself (more so on the weekends). I’m tired but I feel good.

My free lance work is almost done (for now) so I can start adding in other things like exercise and meditation and more reading/relaxing time after work.

I really think all of this is paying off…I feel more fulfilled that I did earlier. I definately starting to be more creative and wanting to produce art again…which is definately good (4 yrs of “artist block” is never a good thing).

I’m not waking up uber early anymore but that’s ok. All in good time.

Good first week1

I’ve had a wonderful first week of not procrastinating. I made a list of everything that I wanted to accomplish in a week and have completed 1/2 of the list…partly b/c some of the items were more time consuming than I had expected (like shampooing the family room carpet). I’ve also started waking up earlier than my husband (this has never happened before) and starting my day right away instead of sitting around drinking coffee and smoking trying to wake-up. Now I just work on my freelance projects and I’ll be happy.

a new year...

It’s come down to the fact that I have to get off of my ass and start doing something…I have all of these great ideas when I’m at work, but by the time I get home and have the opportunity to do them I just end up sitting down and watching TV. Its slowly killing me (mentally). It’s also ruining my marriage. My husband set his goal to not drink…he’s on day 3 and doing wonderfully; mine is to stop procrastinating…I failed last night. I have free-lance work to do and all I did was sit down and read a book. Granted its more than I usually do, but still not enough.

If anyone has any tips on how to stay motivated, I would greatly appreciate them.
