I word the phrase thusly so as to draw attention to the concept of realization. When you realize something, mentally you are letting it become real to you, tangible as opposed to intangible. Doing this with peace is bringing peace from the possible to the real, to what is felt, to what is shared.
Peace is not some fairy tale which we must forgo simply to feel more grown-up, more “realistic.” Peace can be as real as we want to share, as we want to love, as we want to give, as we want to abstain from the impulses to violence and destruction, to the ignoring of suffering, to the exclusion of others who need our love, who need our action, who need the outstretched arm and open hand, to pull them to their feet.
