Was the verdict after our work’s Christmas gift exchange in which I gave away my wedding dress. The girl who was getting married picked it and wore it for her wedding!

and I absolutely love it. I used my diamond from my wedding ring and other diamonds he gave me to use in a custom made ring that the jeweler helped me design. I think I love it more than my wedding ring (and I did really like the wedding ring). I haven’t been able to get any good pics but it’s really unique with sapphires and looks nothing like a wedding ring so it looks great on my right hand. I will probably put the dress idea on hold for awhile since I may want to use it again someday in a different way and don’t want to spend any money on it right now.
So I did decide what to do with the ring. I saw someone at a gymnastics meet wearing a gorgeous ring which appeared to have been an engagement ring on her middle finger of her right hand. I plan on having my ring made to wear on that same finger but I want to use the stone from that and my earrings he gave me to make a ring totally different from a wedding or engagement ring. I have some ideas of what I want and will ask a jeweler to make me one and see if they have any other ideas. Realistically I need to wait till I have more money.
Still deciding for wedding necklace. Thinking of asking jeweler to show me chains for anklets. Either that or give my niece the necklace for dress up for my niece’s 3rd birthday. Probably the latter.
I almost always choose the practical route, which would be to sell everything, but I really don’t want to go that route. I’m always so practical about everything and have been so practical about everything related to the divorce that this is the one time I want to do something not-so-practical and just fun. I’m thinking that the diamond wedding necklace might make someone a very nice birthday present (or dress up jewelry for my nieces). I do think I’ll make a cool ring out of the diamond earrings and wedding ring. I’m not sure what to do with the dress. I really like it and thought about keeping it for my next wedding, but my family thinks that may be bad luck so I think I’ll find a place to donate it to.
