I cheated a little this week. I did go to two classes. But one of them was a level 1 Iyengar class. It was my first Iyengar class. So many props. To do a shoulder stand we each had a mat, 5 blankets, a strap, a chair, and a bolster!
It was actually kind of nice. It was a small class and the teacher went around and took the time to correct your poses down to the tiniest detail. And you had some time in the few poses that you did to really feel them out and try to suss out what every part of you was doing.
But it lacked the sweating, motion, exhaustion and impossibleness of the Flow 2 classes that I have been taking. It also lacked the chanting and the little talk at the beginning which I used to mock but now really like.
So the question is, do I go to a flow class this weekend to make up for “skipping” a yoga class? Or do I throw in an Iyengar class here and there to mix things up?
