I went to part time on the job, which was my intention from the start. I go to work at 4:30 AM and get off at 9:30AM which leaves most of the day ahead of me. Next week I start some more training, so I will go to work at 8:00AM, we will see how that works out.I believe that I have them convened that you can really teach an old dog, new tricks:-)

I found out that this is a lot more involved than it first appears to be. I am also working full time until such time as I have completed training, which involves getting up at 2:00 AM so that I may report to work at 3:300 AM. All this necessitates me going to bed at about 7:00 PM!
then I will go to Little Rock and live with my daughter for a while. I start my new job on Monday March 31. I am excited, apprehensive, enthusiastic, and fearful. It seems that it is harder to make big changes the older I get.
The good news, I got a job offer. The bad news is that it would start in two weeks and is in Little Rock, 120 miles from here. We have been speaking of moving to Little Rock, but this is faster than I had expected.
Thank you for participating in the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Transportation Security Officer (TSO) (Screener) evaluation process. This process is very demanding and we appreciate your time and participation.
You have successfully passed all of the requirements for consideration for an appointment as a TSO in the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration. These results are valid for up to one year, however, you may be required to recertify your background investigation forms at a later date. You will be notified if this is required.
One more small step toward becoming a public servant, so that I can quit doing meaningful work. :-)
so I took a test with the TSA, as an airport screener, trying to keep Alcada from taking over the Ozarks (smile). There seems to be some problem with hiring an old man, so they are making me jump threw some hoops (figuratively speaking) before I am qualified to be hired. I passed all of the “written test” (they are in fact computer test) as well as the background and the interview, but I have to get a total of three different doctors to say that I am able to hear, am not crazy (I now have a paper saying I am sane, do you?:-) and that I can stand for hours on end dealing with hostile travelers. I summited the paper work and they are contemplating whether it meets their requirements.
as one of their maintenance personal. I am really looking for a part time job and while there, I was told that the only “part time” position that they have had been filled. I took the interview anyway, but they have not called and I doubt that I would take the job if they did.
I was standing on top of a building two weeks ago, it was 14 degrees Fahrenheit out, and the wind was blowing hard. I was attempting to fix a furnace that the owner had messed up by trying to fix it himself. It was then that I decided that this is not as much fun as it used to be:-) I don’t need to work real hard, I have no “payments” and few wants. I started to apply for interesting part time jobs. I have everything I need but I will never have all I want, so why kill myself. At 58 years old I know that I am never going to be rich.
