I know what I should do 3 months ago

but I just don’t do it. I am basicly a shy person, specially when meeting new people. I noticed last night that when I was introduced to someone new I was all smiles and “how do you do’s” but a moment later I could not remember there name. If I wish to meet this goal I need to lighten up and remember to do those things that I need to do to remember names.

I was impressed! 14 months ago

We moved to Little Rock and joined a large Church with 4,000 members. I meet a man a few weeks ago, who is 16 years my senior and is a semi-retired news caster on a local TV station, we just exchanged pleasantries that one time. I saw him again Sunday night and he walked right up to me and said, “How are you doing Cal?” I would love to have that kind of recall.

I found an excuse, on Web-MD. Thank God I am getting old:-) 2 years ago

Brain and nervous system. Starting in the third decade of life, the brain’s weight, the size of its nerve network, and its blood flow decrease. But the brain adapts to these changes, growing new patterns of nerve endings. Memory changes are a normal part of the aging process-it’s common to have less recall of recent memories and to be slower remembering names and details. You can help keep your brain sharp with regular social activity; “mental exercise,” such as doing crossword puzzles and reading; and physical activity, which increases blood and oxygen flow to the brain.

A big memory test coming up 2 years ago

in September. We will be going to my 40’th High School reunion. I have trouble remembering people I meet last week, what about the ones I have not seen since 1967?!

I have always been so self-centered, that I assumed that it was easy for everyone else, because they only had to remember my name, where I had to remember hundreds of people’s names! I know that if I want to connect with someone I MUST remember their name, that is the most personal thing that anyone has.
