interview went pretty well, he’s just checking my references now…

Had a phone interview tonight, it went ridiculously well. Driving up to Burlington for a marathon interview day on Monday! So glad I decided to go for it.

Sooo, I got a call tonight from the president of an ad agency in Burlington, VT. He found my resume on monster.com that I posted like…2 years ago. A media planning position (omg,) at a small/medium-size agency (am I dreaming?) is about to open, and am I interested? (pinch me). He saw my VT radio internship, and my LA media planning, and thought it seemed a good match. I couldn’t agree more. OHHH, but wait, back to reality. Crestfallen, I told him I am three months into a 12-month lease here in Boston, but I would keep his name for after I’ve served my time here.

I called my parents, thinking, “what a funny story I have!” and they convinced me to apply!! Although clearly not in my plans, how could I pass up an opportunity like this? I just submitted my application for the position.

Fingers crossed, let’s see what comes of it :)

It went really well – the interviewer and I had some fun things in common. But I don’t know if I want this job!!
Don’t know when I’ll hear back…don’t know what I’ll say. Good benefits, good pay, easy enough job – but does any of that matter if I hate it?

I have some other places I’m calling back this week. Fingers crossed…

I have an interview with BAO on Monday morning!!!

So, remember that crappy job fair I went to last month? Two of the companies I gave my resume to have called! I just had a phone interview with Henry Glickel from BAO Inc, he’ll be forwarding my resume to Debbie Pepper. I should hear from her soon.

(If I work there…do I get a cool name too??)

OKAY, so the agency I applied to yesterday sent me an email that DOESN’T say “we have nothing for you.” HOORAY!! It’s the standard “we’re reviewing your resume, we’ll get back to you,” but that’s better than the rest!! yesssssssssssss

So my goal today was to send in 3 more applications. I picked 5 agencies from my list of like 24, and started researching them. The first one looks awesome, and is expanding, so lots of positions are opening up. Awesome. Customize the cover letter, send it in.
After that, NOTHING. All the places I looked at don’t have open positions I’m anywhere NEAR qualified for!! Sooo frustrating.
TOMORROW’S GOAL: Submit 3 applications

Sent in 2 applications yesterday, got an email this morning from one saying there are no positions.
Got a call & email from a woman I talked with at the job fair last week. I really don’t want the position, going to email her back today. It’s not in my field at all. I know my first job won’t be my dream job, but I think I can do better than working in a call center.
