create a website

So I’m back on the track of trying to learn how to do this, and do it!

Good news: my scribbled ideas were met with enthusiasm

Less good news: my fears about my amateur site building representing a person’s business!!

Now, does anyone have a recommendation for a good hosting company?

It’s kinda tough when the person you’re building a website for is a bit bored by any geeky talk, but this afternoon I had a good website conversation. M has a pretty clear idea in his head of what he wants, which is probably a good thing – less for me to think about! – but was also a cool moment of ‘buying in’ from t’other side :)

We also discussed what he wants to use the site for, what kind of content he wants, etc – so am feeling well prepared to cobble something together, and well-motivated to do it soon :)

Okay, so I’m still learning, but I have a proper, actual, real-life project to learn for which makes everything so much more exciting! :)

Today I confirmed the domain name I’ll be getting – hurrah! Figure that’s quite a biggie :)

Also… have had Purple Cloud recommended as a host – does anyone have any other recommendations?

Of course, getting ahead of myself (hurrah!), but also today I got a step further forward to getting some free sandbox space.
