This is still making me chuckle…

I order my dead animal products from a butcher that delivers to my work, and pick up a box every couple of months. This week I ordered some beef, chicken, and just for a change – some sausages (I’m not the world’s biggest fan, which is relevant in a bit…). The smallest quantity you can order is 1kg, which costs £6. So apparently the woman had written the ‘£6’ beside that line on my order… and it was… slightly misread?

Imagine, if you will, opening a (why is it so heavy?) box, to find rather more packs of sausages than you’d ordered! Now, given that the kilo turns out to be 20 sausages, and I found myself with 6kg… that’s 120 sausages!!

The lady on the phone was very apologetic, and told me as it was their mistake I was free to keep them. Urm. Thanks. ::gulp::

I had a bizarre morning going around my colleagues asking if they liked sausages – “Great! Would you like ten or twenty?!”

Y’know, this really wasn’t the reason I enjoyed the movie, but I’m starting to think I could be persuaded ‘round to that way of looking at it ;)

There’s also a PG version, with flowers, kitties and lots of cake. Favourite altered lines: “Tonight we dine in heck!” and, “Then we shall hug in the shade” :)

So instead of beating myself up for wasting time, I’m going to do my damnedest to limit that time, and enjoy every 6-year-old minute of the pretty colours and mindless fun!

Today I was walking (or limping. Those shoes were never meant to see pavement, not yet – bloody surprise meetings in other buildings!!) along a quiet path in the middle of an Edinburgh business park (not somewhere you’d drive through en route to anywhere, y’see), when a car tooted its horn at me. I turned around to spy…

Weird! I waved, and kept walking, but he pulled the car over (half on a roundabout, which is why I didn’t stop), rolled down the window, leaned over and said, “Can’t stop!” and drove off again.

The fun bit was getting to call him a tosser as he drove off! ;)

Flicking through the channels t’other night, I stumbled across a program about ‘Boys and Girls’ and music in the 1990s. Suede, Blur, Oasis and Pulp… through to Supergrass, Robbie going solo and Kylie’s hotpant-ed reinvention. Ah, the nostalgia!!
