i took an intensive italian course … one year crammed into one quarter. it spanked me all summer, but i did better than most. i can understand it spoken and written to a fair extent, but i’m far from fluent. i do think though that i’d be alright if i got dropped into the middle of italy right now. but, it would be nice to have more practice and to develop better conversational skills … it’s a work in progress.
