Good Grief 3 months ago

I recently got rid of a sleeping bag that I got when I was about 13 years old.

Ouch!

Can’t believe I kept that thing for so long. How humiliating to actually admitt this to strangers.

I cut out some of the fabric from the inside and have saved it to use in my quilt (another goal that is taking a quite a while to accomplish).

My place got a little out of control this summer, but I’ve got it back under control. Things are organized and I am happily downsizing.

Less is more.

My life is becoming cluttered again! Agh!

Ever since having a party and then heading off to the cottage (and then 12 days of music every night), my apartment has become cluttered again. I seriously need to deal with the empty beer bottle situation stat (not all from me.. at least I did rinse out the bottles so it’s not too nasty).

Sigh. Where did all this shit come from.

Good grief – the Canada Party we had really set me back. My place is a bit of a disaster at the moment. I’m still decluttering but with going away to the cottage and Bluesfest, I haven’t had time to properly organize my place.

Bluesfest ends on Sunday. Maybe I can get back to this soon.

Goodybe George Foreman Grills 6 months ago

So I’ve been getting rid of some really useless junk lately.

For example, I had two very old George Foreman Grills. Both of these grills are pretty much useless; specifically because the nonstick coating has almost entirely worn off. But did I throw them out…. No. They sat on the shelf for years. Until now. They’re gone.

The George Foreman Grills are just one example of the many useless things that I’ve kept simply because I don’t know what else to do with them – and for some reason I couldn’t seem to throw them out.

I think I do tend to keep some things because they remind of a certain time, place or person…. It’s getting so much easier to declutter.

The less I have the happier I am 6 months ago

It’s true.
I can appreciate the things I have, the things I actually like now that I have gotten rid of so much useless crap.
I always felt guilty about getting rid of random things that I had been given as presents (the worst gifts of all time have to been ridiculous figurines and other equally horrific items that you are expected to put on display – or keep hidden in a closet and put out on display when said gift-giver comes over). Now I feel no shame in decluttering all the junk.
Life is good. I love summer.

Stilling going... 7 months ago

This weekend I’m getting rid of even more crap I don’t need… I can’t wait until my life is organized. Things are getting easier and stuff is moving out of my apartment quicker.

Slowly but surely 7 months ago

Got rid of more stuff yesterday (including a hideously ugly rug that was so horrific that it wasn’t even worth donating anywhere).

Things are moving along slowly but surely.

I wonder what useless stuff I can dispose of today?

I keep getting rid of stuff… I can’t believe much stuff I have.
I thought that it would be harder to see stuff go, but I feel happier with each bag that leaves my place.

Yay!

I have too much stuff 8 months ago

I need to clean out all the unnecessary things that I have, so that I can better appreciate (and find) the stuff that really matters.
Hmm, since it’s spring, I best get on it.
