This isn’t working, at least not with alcohol once every two days and partying. I have almost broken my hand and it affects my concentration and also the time it takes to fall asleep. I still consider polyphasic sleep to be an interesting idea and will likely try again when I have a more organized schedule – which should be soon, in a matter of weeks. At least I somehow got the strength to wake up when my alarm clock rings, that’s a great thing for me.

I’ve taken a somewhat different approach of what I’ve read on the Internet about starting this. Instead of starting with 30minutes sleep periods I’ve started with 3 3hours naps a day and now I’m at 3 2hours naps a day, I’ll gradually decrease the amount of time for each nap until I reach 3 1hour naps per day and then I’ll split the 3 naps in 6 naps of 30minutes. In my opinion this should ease the transition, and so far it’s been working out just fine. What I can see as an effect for now is that I wake up instantly when my alarm clock sounds, as opposed to my usual habit of snoozing the damn thing over and over :). Overall I feel just fine.
I’ll keep posting updates on my progress…
This sounds very interesting. At the moment I sleep at random, either during day or night ranging from 2 to 12 hours, it’s been going on for about 4-5 years and I’m sick of it, I’m giving it a try for a week or two and see how it goes. The tough part is that I’m not used to interrupt my activities for anything… but hey at least I won’t mind a bit of sleep deprivation at start :)
Good luck to you all that are trying this!
