Make a fascinator.

As it so happens, my mother decided to treat me to a new dress and shoes for Ladies Day, and the next thing I know she was buying me a fascinator.

I have to say that it is pretty and well proportioned, but it’s just boring old black. I have threatened to add sparkly stuff, but she keeps trying to convince me that boring is better.

Anyway, I’m not giving up on this goal, I still have a couple more events later in the year that call for fancy head gear. Until then, my house remains covered in feathers and crystal beads,

July 18 is Ladies Day at my local races and I simply can’t turn up without a fascinator. I have no interest to pay $150 for a clip of feathers & bows, so my other option is to make one.

I have a dress that is black & sea-green, so I’m thinking that peacock and black ostrich feathers will compliment.

That’s about as far as I’ve managed to get so far. Thankfully I have a month to create something wearable, or if that fails, visit etsy and buy something last minute.
