Today was a great day in class. My teacher taught me how to pick notes instead of strum them and gave me a few exercises to get my fingers moving. I am so glad I am in this class.

I started my guitar class last Monday. It went well. My teacher is bizarre but I really like him. My teacher was suprised by how much I already know. I think the class is really going to help me reach this goal. I already learned bar chords in my first lesson. That was one thing I was really stuck on. I can’t wait to learn more. I want to know everything I can!
I got a guitar for Christmas when I was a freshman in high school. I started playing that day and kept playing everyday for about 2 years. I really loved to play but I got busy during my jr. and sr. years in high school and basically quit playing. I never had lessons. I looked up songs I wanted to play on the internet and looked the chords up I needed and that is how I learned to play. About a year ago the guy who was playing guitar for the college ministry had some stuff going on his life and wasn’t able to play anymore. Since I loved playing guitar I thought I could try and play in his place. The only problem was I hadn’t played guitar in 3 years. This last year has been an adventure of relearning to play the guitar. My rhythms are getting better but they still need a lot of work. Good news is I decided to take a guitar class for one of my classes in college next semester. Although I may never actually “master” the guitar, my guitar really is just to play the guitar to the best of the abilities God has given to me and leave the rest up to Him. I have no idea what God’s plan was in me playing the guitar for Steadfast for the last year but I know it was for a reason and I can’t wait to see where else in life I will be able to use my guitar.
