so I’m going to retire it as one of my goals. It’s becoming an every day thing. I still have soo much to learn, but I have embraced the process.

Now that I have a food processor and some good cookbooks, I have made several meals, including three soups (pumpkin, tortilla, broccoli). The soups turned out decently, especially the tortilla and broccoli.
I’ve done pretty well with this one lately. I had some help, including a cooking lesson from the 21-yr-old son of my sweetie (pasta with spinach). I’m not sure I’ll remember it; he said it was easy, but there were several steps involved. I do remember the spinach part, though, so I think I could re-create it. And I bought a couple of good cookbooks. My favorite is by Ted Allen (he of “Queer Eye…”) called “100 Smart, Simple Recipes.” Post-remodel, I have some new energy, and I’ve found I’m looking at this project with new eyes (and a longing stomach).
meaning, I’ve tried for a decade or more to teach myself how to cook, and I actually can make fewer dishes than when I started! But now I can make TWO dishes (both involving garlic, go figger) for my main meal, and I suspect there are others waiting around the corner. I have the time, I have the interest, I just don’t have a yellow or green thumb. I’m hoping, still hoping, that skill can be acquired.
