and I’ve been there for 2 days now. Whoopee!!!
The secret: well, the secret is that I was so out of control that coming into a little control found me at weight loss.
I think it’ll start getting harder from here on out.
I already had my 1/3 cup of All Bran Buds, with half a peach on top. And I have a walk scheduled with a friend for later. And tomorrow, I will check in with the health coach.

I’m still at 9 lbs (weight loss), but I like the direction I’m in. Things are going well: not eating between meals (except for a little fruit, some soy chips), watching portion size.

I’d like to say it’s steady as she goes, but, truth be told, it’s a matter of stops and starts. Ups and downs. Still, as of this morning, I have lost 9 pounds! I guess that represents a week and a half from being on this thing. (My doctor doesn’t want me to call it a diet. More like “nutrition.”) I’m quite encouraged.

In one week!!
And I only got to go walking 3 times this week due to weather.
I’m going to keep this up, but not with any specific goal. I’m very pleased.

It’s a phone thing, something new. You spend 10 minutes talking about your health, taking on activities that edge you towards your goal. His goal for me is helping my heart, lowering my cholesterol. Mine is losing weight. I figure my goal can dovetail into his.
I started the weight loss goal, this one, because I knew I’d be talking with him for 6 weeks. I figure this will help me do this because I have to answer to him every week. So far it’s working.

this is my plan.
No fried foods.
No sugar.
No bread (except when part of a sandwich), no pasta.
Portion control – meaning, steak should be the size of a deck of cards.

I weighed myself, made a note of it. I went walking this morning. But everthing in my legs hurt: quads, calves, Achilles tendons. I usually stretch on the first leg of my journey, but it didn’t help, and I didn’t walk enough for everything to warm up. It was cold out (45 deg).
Still, a good beginning, as I walked about 40 minutes at a good pace. Next up: lunch.

A simple goal, right? Very doable. I need something to kickstart myself, that’s for sure.
So, I will weigh myself this Monday, Jan. 28th, and then weigh myself again the next Monday. I will lose the weight the old-fashioned way, by diet and exercise, regardless of the cold or rain.
