Ever since I added a dose of metformin (under doctor’s instructions, of course), the numbers have been in manageable territory, around 110 or so. Lower would be better, but not too much lower.

I have just added 500 mg more of metformin a day. We’ll see if that can get my glucose level to around 100.
a very good score. This was taken a month ago.
My daily blood glucose levels have been fantastic recently.
One was on nutrition, how to look at recipes and change them to make them more healthy, and the other was on diabetes.
In the diabetes class, we talked about which fruits had a higher level of sugar. That was valuable.
Disneyland. It’s filled with sugar. You know, like Paradise Island in Pinocchio. So this time, I took my glucometer, and measured my sugar each morning and sometimes at night.
My goal was to have one sweet thing a day, and I pretty much stuck to that.
It’s at the local clinic. I don’t remember what it’s called, but it’s something to do with low-cost preparation of food. I could really use some alternatives in eating.
at my clinic. Interesting group of people. I really don’t share much else with them, but we all have diabetes (at various stages), and we all have struggles with food and sugar.
I also signed up for two more classes, which look very interesting to me: Food Demos on Mondays once a month, and Diabetic 101, which goes over what diabetes is all about and how we can control it.
My glucose was shooting up right after I stopped taking the Metformin, a consequence, I believe, of that act plus being on vacation.
I have steadied my diet now, and started taking glucose tests at other times during the day. The numbers are just fine now.
but my glucose levels have been climbing. I’m going to have to really watch this now, keep my sugar intake down, down, down, especially if I want to stay off that drug.
