Yay!

Last weekend I went on my first real ride. I took out my boyfriends mothers horse and even though he was in a really persnickety mood and was damned if he was going to turn left, I finally got him too, had apparently great posture, and didn’t look like a complete moron!

My goal is to try him on a walk a few more times before moving up to things like trotting, cantering, and galloping.

In the saddle - so to speak.

My fiances mother owns a horse. Last weekend she invited us up to visit her boy Porthos. He was pretty grouchy and hadn’t been ridden in ages but she boosted me onto him bareback and sent him on a walk around the ring. It was pretty easy to sit on him but I have NO clue on how to move with a horse yet, I was bobbing up and down quite a bit! It was a short ride but it’s a first step. The goal is walk, trot, canter, then who knows! :)
