I haven’t returned to doing the JDRF walk yet, but to kinda make up for it, I did a payroll deduction through work. Something is better than nothing I guess!!

how serious being a diabetic can be, or to be honest how deadly. It is the leading cause of heart disease, blindness, and kidney failure. The most seriously affected are children who can develop diabetes at any age. I work with a girl who was diagnosed at the age of 2, my son was 5 and my niece was 11 years. The list of complications stemming from diabetes is long, such as hypertension, loss of limb, brittle bones once the diabetic has to be on dialysis. Digestive problems called gastro parisis. The list of complications is long.
I had taken a rest from walking in The Ron Santo Walk for a Cure, but now I plan to do my part next year. It is too late for my son and for my niece, but not for others.
When you hear that someone has cancer, immediately you fear for the worse, typically when you hear someone say they are a diabetic, you don’t think of it as being deadly. Well, think again and think differently. It is deadly.
