and I love the shading on this…. it isn’t as deep as I need to go, but I’ll get it… the hair, I think, is much better, but needs work (thanks for the tip Shelly). I can’t seem to get the eyes to ever match… so I’ll be working on that too!

I’ve been working on my shading and making it deeper per suggestions earlier. I think that this could possibly be the best pastel/charcoal/pencil creation yet. I’m bound and determined to get this right. Right in my eyes that is. I’ve still got work to learn to do the mouth and nose more acurately, but I’m quite please with this!

and I cannot wait until it comes so that I can hang it in my office and feel the tranquility!

I’ve entered new mediums! Charcoal, pencil, pastel…. certainly faster than painting, and nearly as rewarding. I’ve gone into a human faze… and I’m working on skin tone. I’m trying to bring in all the colors of the rainbow, as that is what we’ve got in our skin, but somehow we all look jaundice.

I think the cartoonishness of my work has gone down some.

Pencil, pastel & charchoal. My people still look like cartoon charaters. But thankfully less so… :D Please give any type of critique, inspiration, whatcha like and whatcha don’t! (and yes, this is me and the hubby) :D

by my family… whatcha think? I’m progressing on the noses, and still have a bit to go with that. But I’m thrilled with the shading and shadowing!

I started painting a woman with a compass on her head… she looked like a mermaid and was promptly disposed of… fell in my comfort zone and finger painted… huh.

Well… at least I created!

I want to create right now and I can’t come up with a single thing. Flowers? women? anything? Agh, I don’t know.

After not creating for months… literal months, I picked up my brush Wednesday and painted. It felt so GOOD. And I want to again. I just don’t know what.

I’ve tried asking the hubby what, but he doesn’t know. I don’t want to paint my dog, I don’t want to paint abstract… necessarily, not the wild abstract that I’ve done before. I want something with direction…

Someone give me a picture to paint, a idea, a subject, something. I’m lacking direction! help!

At the sound of the tone the current time is 10:41 pm….

And Cathie is done working and has all… ALL Weekend to paint! Or at least until Saturday at 5pm, then from 8pm to Sunday evening!

The canvases are waiting, the paint is wet, the glass of wine is in hand, the music is playing… and I can go do what I LOVE!

Yes, I experimented with blue shading on Amelio and am not quite sure if I like it or not…
