Today is father’s day and we spent the afternoon at his parents’ place. His brother was there, and his sister drove in from Montreal. Nothing noticeably special happened – we hung out in the backyard, watched and played with M in her little wading pool, had lunch, lazed around.

But I know that times like that make him really very happy.

12. Discovering some oreos in the cabinet that he hasn’t noticed before.
13. Family outings to interesting places.
14. Camping, I mean really camping.
