Tuition Reimbursement  — 10 months ago

at the hospital that I work at has changed. Until recently, they reimbursed employees up to 1200.00 a year for classes taken at college/university. Now, they will reimburse employees up to 3200.00 per year for undergraduate classes, and 5000.00 per year for graduate level classes. I am feeling more positive about the ADN to MSN program now! The first 24 credits would cost me 6840.00, but if I can take them over two reimbursement periods it would be mostly reimbursed by my employer. Then, when I start the masters part of the program my reimbursement level changes. It would be advantageous to find out how the “tuition reimbursement year” is calculated;is it fiscal year, calendar year, or based on hire date?

Due to a family illness  — 11 months ago

I didn’t start the program at Linfield in September. I have since found out about a ADN to MSN program at Walden University. It’s a three year program, that may actually cost me close to the same as the ADN to BSN program that I was considering.

I've picked my college  — 1 year ago

I’m going to apply at Linfield- Good Samaritan College of Nursing’s RN-to-BSN nursing program. I spoke with an adviser yesterday. I have all the prerequisites completed, so I just need to get in my application with my transcripts, and money.

I put in my application for Oregon State University  — 1 year ago

OSU offers a large catalog of upper-division online courses. I have picked a few psychology courses that I would like to take (Abnormal Psychology, Cognitive Development, and Health Psychology). These would transfer to OHSU for my BSN and count toward the fifteen credits of upper division that I need.

Registered for a class in Gerontology  — 1 year ago

at the local community college. It looks like it will be a very interesting class. There is a paper due in the class, and I love writing papers.Only one midterm and a final (I hate tests).

Statistics class  — 1 year ago

begins Monday. I’m getting everything set up on the computer, since it’s an online class. Unfortunately, the test dates coincide with my work schedule. This could be difficult.

I got the position on the cardiac unit  — 1 year ago

so this goal will go a bit smoother. My new manager is very supportive of staff that want to further their knowledge. He was a CNA at the hospital, and continued working there as a LPN, RN, charge nurse and now nurse manager.

I applied to the cardiac unit today  — 1 year ago

I spoke with the manager who is very enthusiatic about working my schedule so I can further my education. I hope I get the position, it would open up many possibilities for me- especially for my BSN.

Found an online statistics class  — 1 year ago

My manager hasn’t changed my schedule, so this will be my only class this winter. I am still hoping to transfer to another unit before spring. I think the manager of the new unit will be more understanding of my need to get my BSN.

Registered for classes  — 1 year ago

at the local community college. I signed up for Statistics, Chemistry, and Spanish. If I’m fortunate enough to get a change in my schedule I may be able to take one of the classes. I need to sign up for the online statistics class, as well. That will be my failsafe class, and probably the one I’ll actually take. Wish me luck!
