didn’t do so good on my private time with the dirt this week. Of course I did have 3 midterms and started a new job which between those two things absorbed absolutely every ounce of anything that I had this week. But, I still would have liked to have gotten in at least 2 runs. I’ll need to figure out new times around my new work schedule this coming week that I will set aside just for me me me. I love running. It feels so healthy and private and freeing. Yeah, there we go, a little pep talk. I’m on it.

success is mine today .. 4 years ago

Aargh! man, every excuse not to run. I overslept today, was foggy for a long time as a result of sleeping too long, it was too hot outside to be comfortable, then when I got to my favorite nearby path I was politely turned around because of a big golf tournament (haven’t they heard ‘share the road’) anyway, it would have been too easy at that point to just say forget it. But, I DIDN’T. I ran a different direction instead. success is mine today!

doing good . . 4 years ago

Into my second week and feeling good! It is interesting how differently I view this goal when looking at it from the concept of “be a runner” versus exercise X days a week, or go to the gym at 7:00 every day. This is something I want to be, not something I see as something I have to do. To be something is a different mindset for me. Happened by accident, but I like it.

Me and my sneaks had the most fantastic time hitting the dirt this morning. I did a nice 90/30 for 20 mins. and then came home and enjoyed a terrific cup of coffee. What a great way to start the day, I am happy, happy, happy. :D

On the way in the morning . . . 4 years ago

I followed through and got my shoes today!! After several stores and trying on lots of commercial “running shoes”, I finally told my pocketbook to stop nagging me :0) Ended up at a specialty store where the barefoot skater dude who helped me had me in the most perfect shoes I’ve ever experienced within minutes. I swear these shoes fit like a glove, only better. I am going to hit the dirt in the morning! I almost think I would do it just for the chance to wear these sneakers :D

It occured to me 4 years ago

while looking at entries from a number of other people about running, that this isn’t necessarily something I have to do every day (which seems so overwhelming). In fact alot of people seem to mix it up with other types of activities altogether.

Maybe, to get the ball rolling, I could just commit to starting with a w/r pattern 2 days a week or so?
