be thankful everyday

enjoyed the sound of the wind this morning. Very windy!
talked to my best friend over the phone
finished putting my work together for submission into the art exhibit…thankful I had the right tools and the right frames.
Both of the kitties sat on my lap today (at the same time, very cute).

I am thankful Dave made dinner..it was delicious.
It was a nice day weather-wise.
I got a flu shot.
I like my doctor, she is great.
My car drove perfectly (well, alright, there is one residual little squeaky noise but it is so much improved since all the repairs)
Got to talk to my ex husband’s daughter last night and catch up with her, she is very sweet.

I am thankful Neville called, he is working on my car again (and admitted that it wasn’t right).. “argument” averted! Hoorah!

I have lots to do and plenty of time to do it

Talked to S yesterday..I am grateful she is doing well after her big surgery from two months ago.

Dave is doing fine after his surgery too

I had an interesting art filled weekend that makes me want to get to work!

thankful the kitties are spreading their love by sitting with ME this morning (many mornings they sit with Dave..but today I am the lucky recipient of cat attention)
Thankful I had such a great “art” outing yesterday with my friend C.

I have reliable transportation!
I helped S and her sister reconcile!
(that happened weeks ago but they are spending the day together today and I can’t help but feel a little puffed up over it)
& I have dreams again..both night time and day time.

seems the first garage didn’t tighten something down when they replaced a strut. So the 2nd garage tightened it down and they will also change my oil. Yahooo! a minor repair!

UPDATE: CRAP! it is NOT fixed!! The sound is back and it sounds TERRIBLE. I don’t even know if it will get back to the garage without whatever it is falling out onto the pavement! But I will take it back to the garage tomorrow because the garage is a reputable one (for which I am thankful). They’ll find the problem and fix it. I just have to be patient.

I am waiting for the tow truck to come get my Toyota. It made a big CLUNK the other day when I drove it a short distance. I invested quite a large sum in this car over the last year hoping that I could keep it for as long as I can (instead of buying a new one). It is one of those 87 models that you still see quite often on the road. It’s the “checker cab” of cars, I think (really reliable!) ...but that CLUNK does have me concerned. I hope it is not a thousand dollar CLUNK.

I’ve had a couple of my friends give me a hard time for my inexplicable loyalty to my old cars…but honestly…I am very thankful to have both my old cars (and I feel sorry for people who have to have fabulous new cars because our media-driven culture insists on it!) hey…maybe I am experiencing reverse snobbism. I do realize one day I’ll probably have to get a new car..but in the meantime I’ll drive the Toyota as long as it holds up.

thankful for my painting friends despite the fact they are a “tempermental” bunch and prone to disagreements

I read the obituaries nearly every day. About 10-20% of the total people represented in the obituaries are younger than I am.
I am thankful I have today!

I was happy to see his big family and all the people whose lives he touched! I was reminded of such happy memories and what a great example he set. He was a volunteer at a correctional facility and several of the people from the prison he had ministered to were there. When I was on my walk tonight I had the glimmer of an idea..of volunteering at the same place. I have to give this some thought. I may not be qualified. I’ll give it some time and thought.
