It seems to help to write it out in my own "hand" 3 years ago

I write it out and say it out loud. The more I do this with small items (like cleaning out the tool shed etc) the more I realize it will be just as effective with larger issues. I have been skirting the larger issues perhaps because I am confused about what more major issue to tackle next).

today..10/11/06 3 years ago

I set my intentions on 1)working on my backyard project (I’m cleaning out the damn tool shed).
I also intened to work on the 2) art show goal, 3) the basement project and 4) dealing with the two car situations. I did something on each goal. I called Neville to ask when I can bring in the Spitfire.
(no answer yet).
Stating my intentions seems to work better than not! I realize I need to craft better intentions that are more broad in scope. Working on it.

my intention today 3 years ago

is to have a really good day!
Is that too vague?
lol

(update: accomplished!)

My intention today 3 years ago

was to encourage Dave to do some things with me. He had back surgery only a week ago but I just knew he needed to move around more than he has been. This could have been touchy since he is concerned (and rightfully so) about doing too much too soon. I set my intention on providing the encouragement but allowing him to decide if he wanted to get moving or not. If he would have said no I wouldn’t have argued with him over it.

My intention yesterday 3 years ago

was to inventory my paintings. I wrote it out and said it out loud. I hauled almost all of them upstairs. I’ve been meaning to do this for about a year now so ..so far so good. I realize that my intention should maybe be broader. Maybe my intention should be something more along the lines of win the Turner prize but right now I need to just inventory the paintings. THEN I’ll win the Turner prize. ha ha.

I also emailed someone locally about an intenders group. From her response it seemed she wanted me to read Dwyer’s book on the subject before attending. I might.

My intention yesterday 3 years ago

Was that my painting be done “cleanly”. I wrote it down in my own hand and said it out loud.
I had noticed a couple of my paintings from the workshop seemed too brown/gray. I want things to look natural, not overly saturated in color but I want a fresh clean look. I paid attention to my stated intention (of the desired results) during the process and I am satisfied that I accomplished what I set out to do. :)

I don't know exactly how this works 3 years ago

but I gave it a go. I had to tell myself not to clean too much. Cleaning is how I have traditionally avoided things. I wrote this and said it out loud and then set about doing it.
Next time I will also state my intention for the specific results (of the painting).
