Hooray for me!  — 1 year ago

Last night I finally got my balance for Half Moon Pose
And I bought my first 10 pass card. I think I will call this goal complete, and set a new goal of practicing yoga at home.

We did lots of standing poses last night, very tiring for the arms!

But something kinda clicked for me last night. The instructor was warning us not to let our posture droop between poses. He said something like we need to stay focused on the present, not to worry about how tiring the last pose was, or how difficult the next pose might be.

And I thought about my other goal, of doing only one thing at a time. Maybe that’s a lesson I can put to use…concentrate on doing well in the present.

Last night I took my cough along with me to my yoga class.

I told the instructor, Joel, that I was recovering from bronchitis, and he told me to just do what I could. Everything was fine until the first downward-facing dog pose, when I had a coughing fit. Joel came over and got me to do a forward rest, then the savasana pose with bolsters until I calmed down.

Then at the end of the class when we usually do just relaxation, we did breathing exercises instead. I know my bronchitis is getting better anyway, but I felt so much better after the class.

due to a bad cold. I found out I can get 50% off an 8 class pass with my health insurance, so I’m definitely going to achieve this goal.

I went to my first class last night. Not exactly first, because I’ve done yoga before, but my first in a few years. Much harder than I remember, maybe I’m getting older.
