So far I know SOME of the basics… like…
Labriit! (Good morning!)
Arlabunakti! (Good night!)
Labi (OK, Good, or casual “hi” when answering phones)
Paldies (Thanks)
Nav par ko (pronounced naw-par-koo-wa and means You’re welcome)
Man ludzu vienu alu (I would like a beer please)
Ludzu (please)
Man (Mani) – my (feminine: mani)
Es (I)
Tevi (you)
Es tevi miilu (I love you)
Chau (Hi, Goodbye)
Prieks Iepaziities (spelt it wrong I know…I forgot how to spell it lol – anyway, that means “Nice to meet you”)
Mani sauc Kimija un es maacos Latviski (My(fem.) name is Kimi and I am learning Latvian) (change “mani” to “man” if you are a guy xD – and at the end of all (or most) female names in Latvian end with “ja” or “a” and J’s are pronounced as “y” – and at the end of all male names is “s” for example: Edgar would be Edgars. Also, added note, the Latvian language does not have the letters “y” or “w”)
No (“Noo-wuh” – means “from”)
Ko (“Koo-wuh” – means “what?”)
Miilas (“Mee-luhs” – love)
Stuulba (“Stool-buh” – Stupid)
Pakalas (“Pak-al-as” – butts xD)
Tu esi garrigi atpalacis cilveeks (“Too esee gar-ee-gee at-pal-ist-is still-veyks” – means “You are a mentally retarded person” lol)
that’s it for now xD my boyfriend’s native to Latvian, so he teaches me a lot _
