So far so good

my kitchen has been clean for over a week, but I have trouble with laundry. It tends to multiply and stack itself upon chairs. It’s a problem. But I consider this goal half done because I now have an intimate knowledge of cleaning products and have managed to sue them consistently! I rock the Clorox.

One Week of Cleanliness

I have kept it up a whole week: Dishes done immediately after use, laundry put away and not just stacked on the chair, foyer swept. It makes more sense to do it immediately than wait til it’s chaos and then try to attack it. So far so good. I’ll consider this goal accomplished when I’ve established and kept good habits for one month.

Clean as you go

I’m trying to keep the kitchen clean as I cook. Instead of wandering off to check e-mail while the rice cooks, I clean up the plates and countertops that I’ve messied. There are usually a few plates left in the sink, soaking, but this week I’ve been doing pretty well. I’m also trying to cook more at once instead of cooking every night: If I cook meals for three days in one afternoon, that cuts down on dirty dishes and electricity/gas use. I’m trying to make this a habit!

Weekend Clutter

I got rid of an extra table that was making my room feel cluttered. I stacked and organized my linens and pillows. I straightened my rug and stacked my boxes in nice towers. Ididn’t vaccuum yet, but I did straighten and wipe the fridge. Today’s chores: Swiffer the cabinets, sweep and mop, put away laundry, make a chore chart for myself.

I thought I wouldn't need a vaccuum...

I live in a studio with wood floors, so I sort of thought I could get away with you know, just sweeping occasionally.

Even in a studio, you need to vaccuum.

Time to hit Craigslist!
