My wife and I lived in India for about a year and a half. I always joked that my goal before leaving the country was to make it into a Bollywood Hindi movie. I’d especially like to play the villain. This is partially because I’m “foreign” and foreigners tend to get bad guy roles and partially because I don’t want to have to dance.
Anyway, at one particularly busy point in our stay there, I was asked through a friend to model Arrow shirts. Arrow makes business clothes, and I guess they wanted an American business guy to be in their ads. It’s kind of funny because I really don’t look anything like a model. Anyway, I was too busy, so I didn’t do it.
Turns out these pictures would have made the billboards, among other things. And, in India, the billboards make US billboards look tiny. Every time we passed an Arrow billboard, our driver Ramesh would yell at me, “You missed your chance! You would have been famous! Any film company would have taken you to star!”
Oh well. Next time.
(We did have the opportunity to meet some famous film people while there).
