I suppose procrastination includes being distracted from what I’m supposed to do, for a great deal amount of time.
For example:
-Reading emails from yahoogroups
-Reading bloglines and refreshing it repeatedly
-Getting stuck on wikipedia
-Getting stuck in online forums, social networking websites
My son is distracting me big time, but I should not consider him as distraction, because my son is a part of me. I must adapt to my son instead. BUT, the four distractions listed above are manageable, and I should start from there.
I wanna try some procrastination hacks:
Create daily task list each morning to be accomplished by the end of the day. Start with one small goal for the day, and making it bigger and bigger. No need to focus on the bigger goal just yet, although the small goal is part of the bigger one.
Restrain myself from the desire to be distracted by the above.
Prioritize! And not just prioritize, follow it, do it!
In coping with the flood of information, train myself to read only the important ones. No need to read everything. Bosses and bigshots are in their positions because they can dissect information and separate the important ones.
Lastly, it’s never to late to start.
I hope this entry is not just talk only. Tomorrow, i gotta follow what i write here.
