sell my house

The house doesn’t want to be sold, so I am renting out a couple of rooms.

...a bunch of time wasters

back to square one.

the house has been up for sale for over a year now.

the prospective buyer got close enough for me to accept.

now it is down to a property survey, and their finance.

then i start looking for somewhere to rent

received an offer last week, the first since February.

£20k below the asking price and £12k below my line in the sand, but hopefully they will manage to come back with what I want.

although I did get a couple of low offers.

Too low to accept and the other parties were not will to go up to my bottom price, but… a low offer is a good sign of interest.

Hopefully activity will pick up after the holidays.

....so I have appointed an additional estate agent.

Usually the agents charge extra if there are joint agents, but the housing market is depressed and the home owner can dictate terms.

So my existing agent agreed to go joint agents for the same fee and my new agent accepted the same terms.

Hopefully having them head to head will help them focus on getting it sold.
