Lately I’ve caught myself looking from the heart at
“strangers”, and I’m surprised to realize how superficially I normally look when it comes from the mind. Not only that the mind wants to find separation between me and them, but it’s that whole categorizing thing going on, tall, short, young, old, beautiful, ugly, fat, skinny etc etc etc. Looking from the heart these people seem like strangers no more. And it probably shows in my eyes. Instead of coming from a kind of a manipulative show of friendliness, it’s that sense of how we truly are one, as well as a curiousity and an openness – who is this totally unique creation before me?
