At first I thought it was a good way to meet people and discuss something I like. Well, first of all I have to drive an hour to get to the meeting place. With gas prices the way they are, it’s almost not worth the drive alone. Plus, I have so much else going on in my life. School, dating, work, volunteering, guitar, etc. that a book club isn’t too worthy of my time. I cancelled 2 meetings, mainly because I just wasn’t into the damn book! I don’t like going out of my way to dive into a book I know nothing about. I would rather stick to my fantasy novels, like Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland. Now THAT’S what I call a good way to spend my time :P

I have to drive an hour to get to the discussion, since no one in Connecticut reads except for the people in New Haven county. I haven’t finished the book yet and my meeting is at 7. I feel like I have to cram for an exam, lol.
About the one that’s 9 miles from my house… the mo’ fo’s never returned my e-mail. Imagine that! What good is posting your contact info if you don’t bother to respond? They even said they NEEDED members. Maybe the library burned down?
I am so happy! My first meeting is on September 11. It’s an hour drive away. Connecticut is so illiterate! There is only ONE book club in my area… with only 7 god-damn members >:(
I ordered the book and I have to have it read by the date. Or else I won’t have much to talk about. The book sounds kind of nice though. It’s about this chick who falls in love with this guy, but she is in an arranged marriage with this other guy, so she paints a picture of the one she loves, and the whole world is affected by the meaning of the painting, or something like that. The book is called “The Painting”. Big stretch, huh?
There’s one only 9 miles from home! I sent an e-mail requesting info and I’m waiting for a reply.
