I’m just getting a book about it (which happens to be stuck somewhere in the mail services, remind me not to make books come to the caribbean again…)
I’ve also looked for survival groups online and clubs that organize survival/hiking tours. I haven’t found a very active group that I feel comfortable with yet and as for the trips it’s pretty expensive so it’s not going to happen just yet but I’m definitely doing this before I turn 40 :D
