learn to ice skate

Well I took a few lessons last year but then fell ill and didnt go back for 8 months. I went once a few months ago because my sis came over and she wanted to go. I’m still scared of hurting myself. I did fall down the last time and it was embarassing but not painful except I banged my elbow on the ice which hurt a little for a while afterwards. I dont know why I’m so slow learning, must be because I’m scared. I’ll be back.

Finally started lessons [I’m 39] after dreaming of skating for years. Spent the entire first lesson clinging to the barrier watching everyone else skate across the rink. Nearly turned back 5 times today before 2nd lesson but went anyway and [sort of] glided across the rink, with the others, without falling! I could hardly believe it! Needless to say I’m over the moon and will go to the remaining 6 lessons.
