Well, I have now transcribed court cases, material for a book, academic interviews and a couple of difficult Australian dialects. I think this is pretty good so far.
What I have learned is that listening is a difficult job, to pay attention to the small words, and to ensure the material makes sense. My accuracy has improved.
I think that constant improvement is important. Also it is important to not become complacent. This will make you slip behind.
So here’s to more jobs hopefully coming my way, and more happy clients.

I have learned invoicing and how to create an invoice using MYOB (Mind Your Own Business). I have issued several invoices so far. They’re not that flash looking but they’ll do. Maybe I can jazz them up a bit.
The other big thing is that I’ve bought an ergonomic keyboard. It cost absolute heaps – around $300 but it’s worth it – my arms are not hurting like they used to after a hard day’s typing. I feel like a real pro now :-)
