Recently, while working on a graphic with over 50 layers… something happened to make the layers palette invisible. Nothing seems to make it re-appear.

I need a plan, other than self-study, to improve my Adobe Illustrator skills. I would like to develop better artistry in original digital imaging, optimization of paths, and application of shading.
