Wow!

I’ve read 125 this year before Thanksgiving!

#125 Eat Me by Linda Jaivin

Finished 11/22/05

I’m still blushing about the beginning of this book. I’ll never look at fruit or a english cucumber the same again. lol
It got better after the first chapter. That was a story within a story. Philippa is trying to write a erotica fiction novel. She is using all her friends sexual exploits in her novel.
It was better written than I thought it would be. Glad not all erotica is crap romance with extra sex.

#124 Autobiography of a Fat Bride by Laurie Notaro

Finished 11/20/05

Funny! Funny! Funny!
Red mice, taxes, weddings, and a nephew. Laurie can make a normal life so funny.

#123 The PMS Outlaws by Sharyn McCrumb

Finished 11/18/05

Enjoyable read. I’ve liked every Sharyn McCrumb book I’ve read so far. I can’t wait to read more in her Elizabeth MacPherson series.

#122 Double Whammy by Carl Hiaasen

Finished 11/16/05

I slowly warmed up to this book. Fishing isn’t really my thing. The book got going then it was fun and interesting.

#121 S is for Silence by Sue Grafton

finished 11/13/05

It started out great I was enjoying the mystery. I liked the fact it cut back into time to 1953 to tell the story as it actually happened.
Well it done good till the end. It ended to abruptly for me. It never really explained why the murderer killed Violet. That’s annoying! Oh well, I still love Kinsey.

#120 Last Days of Summer by Steve Kluger

Finished 11/10/05

Funny epistolary fiction story set in the earl 1940s. Great read!

#119 Triggerfish Twist by Tim Dorsey

Finished 11/08/05

Funny thriller. I can’t get enough of Serge.

#118 The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides

Finished 11/06/05

This was definitely a screwed up book. I don’t know if I every really liked it or not. It was interesting like watching a train wreck. I have so many questions left unanswered by the end of the novel. Why did Cecilia kill herself in the first place? Why did the girls wait a year to kill themselves? Why didn’t they run away? Who was the narrator? Why did the boys collect all this memorabilia and still have after 20 years?

#117 Black Thorn, White Rose edited by Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling

Finished 11/05/05

Bunch of great fairy tales. I think the last two were probably the best. The first two were pretty good too.
