Another pound this week, up to 17.5 pounds. Nearly there!

Well I stalled for a bit over the summer, too many fish and chip suppers by the seaside, and then curries when I was in India, but fortunately I didn’t put any weight on. It has taken me a while to get going again but I have finally started losing weight again and I’ve now lost 16.5 pounds!!! So not far to go for this target, but I really need to lose another couple of stone.
Slimming World seems to be doing the trick so far – in three weeks I’ve lost 9.5 pounds! The great thing is that it doesn’t even feel like a diet because I can eat piles of pasta or rice so I rarely feel hungry – and there’s plenty of opportunity to eat chocolate or drink wine as well.
I can feel the difference already, my “overhang” doesn’t seem as big and I’m definitely narrower in the hips.
Went to Slimming World yesterday and I’ve lost FIVE AND A HALF POUNDS in the last week!!! Woohoo! I’m a happy bunny :0)
Okay, so I curiously managed to completely forget about this goal and my bid to lose 20 pounds before my honeymoon. The wedding came and went and I looked gorgeous, in a beached whale type way …. I felt fantastic and beautiful at the time but I really don’t like the photos, I’m HUGE! And we went to Africa on honeymoon and i did the canoeing (and nearly got eaten by a crocodile!) and the elephant-back safari – but they showed a DVD of the ride at the end and again, I just looked so hideously hugely fat that we didn’t buy it.
So now I am adamant that I’m not only going to lose 20 pounds but a lot more – in fact, 4 stone would be nice. I joined Slimming World on Monday and am finding the Food Optimising eating plan really easy to stick to so far – so far I’ve had loads of salad and pasta and a massive jacket potato and beans and even a can of beer …. obviously I don’t know if I’ve lost anything yet (and my scales at home are dreadfully inaccurate so I’m not going to bother weighing myself here) but I’m determined that I am going to make this work.
But I saw the nurse at my GP’s surgery today and she said that I do need to lose weight. Combine that with our fantastic honeymoon next year, which involves canoeing down the Zambezi and going on an elephant safari, and I know I really do need to …. so here starts a concerted effort to lose 20 pounds between now and next April. Wish me luck!
Okay, so I haven’t really started this yet, although this week I’m really cutting down on the rubbish and eating lots of salad and veg. We’ve managed to get Glastonbury tickets and I’m determined to lose at least a few pounds in the next four weeks so I’m not quite such a lump when we go!
I’m too ashamed to admit my weight becauser it’s frightening …. but i am a size 18-20 and I want to get down to a 14-16, which sounds fairly realistic. I know I snack too much, I tend to nibble on things rather than cook a proper meal, and I drink too much wine and eat too many curries and pasta – my weaknesses.
But from Monday I’m going to really try and cut down on the sweets and crisps and snacks, and drink more water, and we’ll see what happens!!
