ride in a hot air balloon

Make the call SOON to book our trip!!! Grrrr….I would say today after work, but i’m here til 7:30 tonight and I don’t have the number with me. So tomorrow I shall bring the number to work with me or give them a call after work. :)

Will get done this Spring and/or Summer. For one thing…because it HAS to be done! It was my Dad’s big birthday present and something we’ve both always wanted to do and for two…its going to expire this Fall!!! Uh-oh!!!

So we’re going to check out the different places you can take off from and see what is the most scenic. And then we shall wait for warmer weather and head out!! :)

I had hoped to do this on the 1st of Sept, but after reading the brochure that came with the gift certificate I found out that you must call and reserve the balloon a couple weeks ahead of time. :( And Saturday would have been a BEAUTIFUL day to go! Oh well…i’m going to call tomorrow (not too sure they are open today cuz its Labor Day) and set up for Sept. 15th….Hopefully this works out. I can’t wait!!

Because, after all, it is his present.

i’m trying to talk my dad into going in the middle of August.
Hopefully everything works out because i’d really like to do this before the weather starts getting chilly.

So its June and the weather has been fabulous…80’s, sunny (most days anyway) Dad is in Cali right now visiting Grama for a couple weeks, but I say as soon as he comes back we plan this! I can’t wait!!

I really need to talk to my dad and see when he would like to go! Weather is warming up and I think its time we head out!! Or should I say UP??

Yay! So the 31st was my Dad’s big day and we all headed out to Weber Grill for some food and drinks and family fun. We had a good time. Dad opened his gifts at the restaurant and when he opened mine he looked at the front of the GC (it had a pic of a hot air balloon, airplane & Hang Glider) he said “You’re kidding right?” And I said No with a big ass smile on my face. He loves it! He joked around about how it was good that it doesn’t expire until November of 2008 because that’s how long it will take him to work up the courage. Silly! But anyway we talked about how exciting it will be and when we’ll go and where we’ll go. He’d going to do some research to see which of the 3 places we can take off from are the most scenic.
I am too excited! Now we’re getting closet to actually doing it! Can’t wait for summer now! :)

the Gift Certificate came in the mail the other day! Yay! But now i’m rethinking the home made card idea. The GC is so big and i don’t want to fold it or anything….and then i was thinking the Balloon card is a cute idea, but i don’t want to wreak the surprise of the gift with my Dad pulling out a hot air balloon….but who knows….maybe i’ll just find a card with hot air balloons on the front of it and go from there…...
oh what does it matter?! As long as I got the GC and we’re actually going to do this!!! :) So excited! Even though it won’t really happen until the spring or summer…its just really exciting!

I called today and put a down payment on 2 hot air balloon tickets for my Dad’s 60th Birthday!! Yay! His birthday is on the 31st and I cannot wait to see his face when he opens my gift! I had thought of making a card myself….making a balloon and tying a basket on with some pretty string…put the Gift Certificate in the basket….so when he pulls the balloon out of the envelope the basket will swing down from it….maybe put a mini pic of me and him in the basket…..i’m so darn crafty!

My friend in California just sent me an email full of pictures of her latest adventure…hot air ballooning! Such a brat!!
I want to go!! I really really really want to take my dad for his birthday! Well not actually on his birthday, since its in january and that would be quite COLD, but i’d like it to be his birthday present. My only prob…is the $$$...curious how much 2 tix would be….with it being a month after Christmas funds may be low…but its his 60th birthday and he’s such a wonderful father….i might have to go without somethings for awhile! :) So i shall begin my search of prices and places…must start early….before the procrastination begins! :)
