join a choir

Even as a child I couldn’t wait to go to music class. In middle school I LOVED choir, and was ecstatic when I experienced my first honors choir. Then, when I arrived in high school I was blessed with an amazing choir director. I miss him so much now! He taught me so much about my voice and he always had great taste in music! We sang the funnest songs at times, and other times we sang songs that seemed to connect with my soul. I will never forget when I made All-District Choir my junior year…I was so happy that I cried!!! haha. I sang soprano that year. Then my senior year I auditioned as an alto and I not only made All-District choir again, but I was eligible for All State Choir. However, I didn’t learn the song…I was so happy with everythign that I had accomplished that year I just didn’t worry about it at the time. However, I kick myself now for not learning that song!!! Then I went to college as a music major…I LOVED being a music major! Music is my passion…if I don’t classify myself as a singer/musician, then I don’t know what I would identify myself as. And now here I am….I’ve changed my major and I never get to sing anymore! It’s like I’ve lost an arm! I want to sing again…to harmonize…to feel that feeling that rushes through my body when my voice is blending with the awe inspiring sound around me…I need that in my life again! So, whether it is just the simple choir at college next semester, or a choir in the city or something….I will join a choir!
