Goal Achieved

It has been ages since I wrote about this simply because I rarely watch TV these days. I have found a new passion ie making coffee table books on my computer through Blub.com
Now days I spend more time in the study than I do in front of the box.
I also just go to bed and read instead of mindlessly watching rubbish on TV. I don’t even sit up and watch TV to keep my partner company anymore.
There are so many other things that I have been doing with my time that making the decision NOT to watch TV is no longer something I agonise over, so I am marking this goal as achieved.

Down to about 1 hour a day

I have managed to get TV down to about 1 hour a day. The television is usually on while I am cooking dinner and the Beautiful T is watching it, but I actually don’t take a lot of notice of it while I am in the kitchen, even though I can see it from there.
I tend to watch it from around 7:30 – 8:30 or 9 sometimes. I like to be in bed by 9 because I get up at 5am.
There is nothing that I am really ‘following’ at the moment. Even my Masterchef viewing is pretty spasmodic now days.

Nothing but re-runs.

This goal is actually getting easier because TV seems to be full of nothing but re-runs. Even our beloved Big Bang, which is now played as back to back episodes (instead of that God awful Two and a Half Men) is getting to the stage where we have seen them all.
TV mostly consists of Glee and Friday night football. I appear to be achieving this goal by default!

Wed 11 May 2011

Movie length episode of Glee – YAY! Now that’s worth staying up for.

Tuesday 02 May 2011

The Biggest Loser is over and I have been so amazed and inspired by the transformations.
It was on at 8:30 instead of 7:30, so I spent the hour in between doing tidy up jobs around the house instead of getting sucked in to watching Master Chef.
Pleased with that. I found myself doing all sorts of things like ironing my clothes for work tomorrow which means I will have more time in the morning to enjoy my shower etc.
I will start substituting activity for poor television programming. You get a lot more done that way.

Thur 28 April 2011

Still following The Biggest Loser although I often only watch the last 30 mins of it. I just find it so inspiring.

Last night we sat up and watched the Wills & Kate movie which ended very late and boy was I ready for bed.

One blow out on TV this week is ok, but I really am over it. I enjoy reading a lot more. I think that when the Biggest Loser finishes I will be back to 30 mins TV a day. OH, but then there’s Glee starting again on Wednesdays.

Friday 15, Sat 16, Sunday 17 April 2011

I am losing time because of being sick. I have watched a lot more TV than when I am in my workday routine but seeing as I have been feeling so bad, I can excuse some of the vegging out.

The Biggest Loser and the football were the two biggest blocks of time in front of the TV.

Thur 14 April 2011

Still not fully recovered from this cold yet. Watched the Biggest Loser because it inspires me. Then I just sat up and played Words With Friends on my iPhone until I felt tired and went to bed.

Watched about 1 hour of TV which is OK given that I am not well.

Wed 13 April 2011 - Veg out day

I am not well and so I vegged out on TV last night until I felt I could go to bed.

That’s the trouble with taking sick time and napping during the day, makes it hard to get to sleep at night.

Watched the Biggest Loser and the Melb Comedy Festival after that.

I guess it was about 2 hours of TV, but I don’t mind.

Tuesday 12 April 2011

Both Big Bangs were repeats, or I had seen them both, so no real TV watching for me tonight. Besides, my head cold gets worse at nigh time, so I took to bed with a lemon toddy and my book.
