In an effort to encourage prayer within our parish, the pastor asked us to commit to certain private/public prayer, as well as to pray for certain intentions.
I am already in the habit of giving a Morning Offering, Reading the Sunday Reading Prior to Mass, as well as Reading Scripture and Spiritual Readings.
Additionally, Kim and I have decided to start praying the Rosary weekly. And I have committed to go on a weekend retreat at some point this year. There are several upcoming retreats at St. Malo’s in Northern Colorado, so I will look into attending one of those.
As for my intentions, I will pray for the Clergy, especially for Priests in this year dedicated to them; vocations (including seminarians); and for an increase in Knowledge of Faith.
