Get an external hard drive

After “test driving” this one for work, I love it! Ordered it yesterday.

So far, I love the one I got for work. I back up my work laptop every Monday, and the drive is EXACTLY what I want for my home laptop. I’ll keep it on my wishlist and snag it when the price is right.

I get to test drive one, which got great Amazon reviews and which is cute and little and stuff. I added it and some accessories to make it go with my laptop (fix for the power issue) to my wishlist … and I’ll wait on it for a while. Glad to have done some research and made a decision (sort of). Excited for the test drive.

Making no progress on this whatsoever. For a while, I was thinking that I’d be getting one for work sooner or later, and could use that. But then, no – that goes completely against my policy of no personal stuff mixed with work stuff or done on work equipment. So what I really need is a simple drive that’s NOT portable, that’s an external HD and has its own power cord. I’ll get on that … as soon as I get my music collection all ripped. AGAIN.

This is frustrating, because most ext HDs are powered by your USB ports … and most require 1000 amps to come from your USB ports. Mine only produce 500, so many ext HDs are just plain not compatible. I guess I need to head to an actual store, get some ideas of actual products, then look them up on Amazon. Blah. That’s a lot of work.

Hopefully I can get a good external HD from Amazon, with some of my credit from the return of the red purse.
