I find this one is just happening on it’s own. You know the old ladies who don’t give S**? They’ve seen it all, sister, so who cares. Everything seems like a big deal when you’re young, and you look back and see it didn’t matter. Gives you the freedom to speak your mind, etc., in your old age.

it’s interesting, with certain people you can see it in their photos…the insecurity. They just never look comfortable.
Lots of confrontation is my job. I dread it, but am getting better at it and more immune to worrying how I come across, more confident in myself.
this may be a huge part of what holds me back.

I just read that this a good book to read for figuring out how not live your life as a “second hander” (through others’ opinions.)
caring too much about whether students like you or not is the kiss of death. They will see you as weak and manipulate you to get out of trouble. You will hesitate to punish them because you want them to like you. Confidence and charisma are my goals. Whatever I do, do it confidently and I can always admit I was wrong later.
