I’ve been shopping at this grocery store that only buys produce, meats, dairy from local farmers/ranchers. Prices have not increased because the food does not have to be shipped from across the world. Granted, I wont find strawberries in December at this store, but then again, I think we should eat “macrobiotically” – at least by way of local foodstuffs.

The HOA finally placed a recycle bin over by the trash bin. No more driving my stuff down the way! Woo hoo!

I participated in a trail cleanup on Saturday morning. We picked up BAGS of trash and debris. Dirty-dirt work. The best part of it was all of the trail riders and runners thanking us as they passed by. On the return to the trail head we could actually see the results of our efforts. Very fullfilling indeed…

Stay at the Boulder Outlook Hotel. Eco-friendly, zero waste (or near zero) accomdations, down to recycle bins in each room! And its funky and artsy with a great hottub/indoor pool/kids rockclimbing area. I was pleasantly surprised…

I got a free tote and bought another one at Target – its pink and so cute. Folks at the grocery check out loved it. I recycled the many plastic bags I had at the local grocer as well.

I was pretty bad about this, but I finally set up a recycling center in my tiny tiny kitchen and I think I have the routine down.

I didnt realize how many plastic utensils I use in the course of the week. So last night, I packed regular flatware in my lunch box. No more plastic!

I read a posters goal about never accepting a plastic bag – I actually reuse my plastic bags and get a 5 cent credit at the store I shop in for doing this. I just put them back in the car after I unload the groceries.

I could take it up a notch and make sure to carry a tote with me so that I can decline new bags.

it looks weird and feels a little weird. Supposed to save 2.5 gallons of water per shower.
