Yesterday didnt go exactly as planned, but conciously creating the day really made a difference.
I think putting it in writing really helped – I had to think it thru and then I could see it.
I’ll try it again…
Yesterday didnt go exactly as planned, but conciously creating the day really made a difference.
I think putting it in writing really helped – I had to think it thru and then I could see it.
I’ll try it again…
I wake up before the alarm and listen to the sounds of the ocean (I bought a sound machine!). I stretch my body to wake it from its sleep. I wake up thirsty every morning, so I planned ahead and put my water jug on the night stand.
I’m not going to watch the news this morning, I sometimes think starting off the day with lots of bad news and chatty anchor people puts a wrench in the clockwork before the clock has even started.
I’ll move to the living room, where the sun shines thru the half moon window and thru the plantation shutters and settle in for morning tea and a few minutes of uplifting inspirational reading from one of my books.
I’ve already laid out my clothes and supplies for the day. I have a lunch appointment, so I’ve packed some healthy snacks to nosh on thru out the day.
I will focus on that large project and because I was thinking about it, jotted down notes and laid out all of the pieces I’ll need to tackle this thing but good!
I must leave the office by 4:30p for my interview at Kaplan at 5:30pm. Because I packed some snacks, I can nosh on the way up and avoid stopping for something not very nutritious.
I have my interview questions already prepared and my notebook, pens, paperwork at the ready. There will be no doubt nor question that I will be qualified and invited to join the fall program. Financing for school is supernaturally taken care of, I don’t need to worry about “how to pay for it”.
Arriving home, I’ll change into comfortable clothing, perhaps pour a nice glass of wine and sit back to review the materials I’ve recieved. I’ll then thank God for a productive, proactive, blessed day and I will then prepare for the next day, shower, climb into bed and read for a little while until I fall asleep.
I had an idea of how I wanted today to go – I sketched it out yesterday, even before I left work. I think the problem was that I sketched out my work day without considering anything else. In another post, I noted how I got to spend a little time with a state rep in the wee hours of this morning. I think that’s what I mean when I want to consciouly create my day.
I want to be open to surprises and opportunities that, on a typical routine day, I might miss.
